I just put an oem carb on and I can’t get it to idle. It either races or it idles ok for about 3 seconds then wants to shut off. The throttle cartridge (I don’t know the right term) has ridges so I’m assuming this can’t help. Any suggestions?

Ya that’s not good. I believe that the adjustment screw which adjusts the idle made those marks. Seems like the plunger or whatever it’s called was jammed or stuck while being adjusted, causing the screw to bite into it. I’m guessing that’s your problem, each ridge represents a different idle.

If that were mine I'd try to smooth that out. Check to make sure you have play in the cable.

I tried sanding it, I’m going to sand more to smooth it out. That was my guess too. Yeah the cable has play.

I think you can buy those for cheap if you need another one
