That's a good question. I don't really know the answer to it, but I would say that it is highly likely that they will interchange, because they look about the same. I would say that it wouldn't take much fab work to make them work if they don't actually bolt straight up.Are the plastics compatible for these 2?
Yeah they do look exactly the same. I know for sure the 85 250 and the 87 250 are the same but I am having trouble finding info on the 84 200. They do look the same but I haven't actually seen them side by side. That's a good question. I used to own an '84 200 and an '85 250 and an '87 250, but it's been years ago. I probably used to know and just forgot. I know the '85 and '87 250's have the same plastic.
I cleaned all the jets. The thumb throttle has a slight play in it before it starts actually giving gas. The idle screw is all the way out on the carb...is the another one on the thumb throttle? Boot is good. The carb piston appears to be dropping all the way down.depends..did you check all the jets inside the carb ??..low jet stoped up..will cause high idle..also..check your intake boot..it runs from carb to intake..it may have a crack in it..this will cause a high idle..the way i adjust my idle..i run the throttle screw all the way out < this is on the handle bar >..i set the idle on the carb..you might have to screw your cable out alittle at thumb throttle..it could be binding up..not letting the carb piston to drop all the way down...it's all about checking everything..do one thing at a time..see if it helps..if it don't..then move on to another check..good luck !
if you can take the air hose from the air box off....check to make sure the carb piston is going all the way down..if it's not..pull the rubber boot back off the thumb thottle screw...thier's a big outside screw on a smaller long one..losen the outside screw off the thumb thottle housing..and turn the long one in to the thottle housing...this will let the carb piston drop down..if this don't help...take your carb piston out...move the c-clip or spring...<which ever one it has >..move it up one notch..this will let the main jet needle sit farther down in the main jet seat...it should turn your idle down..you may need to screw your idle screw back in some..to adjust your idle again. try that..see how it does.I cleaned all the jets.
