Hello friends,

I'm proud of my boys - it's fun watching them pick up on the powersports. Here's a little video I took of my 8-year-old son yesterday firing up the CRF50F. He has gotten quite good at it. In this case it had not been started in several days. These little Hondas are so much fun.

I had a Honda Z50 in 1971 when I was 12 years old and had to figure out what a choke did. And how to keep from killing myself. Learned a lot in a short while. That spark plug would soot up and foul if I forgot to turn the choke off.

Yea, learned a lot and my parents should have forced me to wear a helmet. Nobody else wore a helmet back then so I didn't but I was lucky and nothing bad ever happened. But that does not change anything and I should have worn a helmet and I absolutely do today, a full face style.

We're putting a few dollars together to get him a full-face with goggles. I like the full-face better as well, for protection.

One Industries make a very good and affordable child’s helmet. You’ll find them on eBay. I’ve always used there helmets, can’t fault them, comfortable, strong and give great visibility for a full face helmet.
If your lucky you’ll find one with Honda decals on it too :)

If you were closer I would sell you my old helmets from when I was young. Awesome video, it's almost more fun watching yours kids ride and have a lot of fun, than it is for you to ride your quad. Be safe out there :)

I agree! Sometimes when I’m watching them ride I catch myself laughing out loud, or just grinning. It’s satisfying watching them learn it and do it right.
