My first set of non-stock tires were some Titan 589's. They rode fairly well, pulled better than most, but were heavy and didn't do much in reverse.

They've been reintroduced. I don't know that I'll buy another set as the Mudbugs tend to paddle a little better in the soup I normally ride in, but for those who want a good trail/pavement/ occasional mud tire that wears like iron, these are a good option.

Very similar to the Mudlites by ITP aren’t they, look like a tough old tyre <— spelt correctly!

Mudlites have a much shorter lug, and are a little more angled (V shaped lug).

The 589's are much better mud tires than the Mudlite, and are 100x's less likely to puncture. Last a long longer too. They do ride like crap and are heavy, which is why I started buying Mudbugs instead of sticking with 589's

Ahh ok. I suppose for sharp rocky terrain and asphalt they’d be spot on though, very difficult trying to find hard wearing tyres, it is here anyway.

I nearly bought executioners instead of my mega mayhem’s, the mayhem’s are quite heavy too. Maybtry executioners next time round, limited to choice here.

I have 589's and love em, for all I do here, they are 10 yrs old now and still at 50+% and over 5,000 miles on them

they NEVER stopped making them however
yrs back, BOTH Titan and ITP made them, then I think ITP dropped them
but Titan always still made them

as for them being heavier than some others, yes, they are, but that is IMO also why they wear so well and are so durable, very THINK rubber, adds weight, but also add's protection

IF these ever wear out I will buy again for sure , IF they still make em LOL

Is there much weight deference, and lug debt , between mudlite xl and the 589? They look WAY taller (in the pic) than at's, and i take it? the Hyde is much tougher than ether mudlite at, or xl ? Looks good, how are they in reverse, (again) compared to the above.

I had the Titan. When I called the only Titan dealer within 100 miles of me they said the 589 was discontinued, but that another tire had replaced it.

I could still see them here, but the 27's were always out of stock back when I was looking so I figured they had quit making them and were selling existing stock.

Dang things are pricey too!
