Bike pictured in my post below with powder coat wheels. I've owed 01 rubicon and the dash cover seemed solid, never gave it a thought. Same with 03 rincon. The foreman however has a gap to the screen and I can move the red cover side to side. I've popped it off and seems ok. 1 screw in the front plus the snaps. I've looked at the Honda scematic and it looks like everything is there. Seems like it needs a gasket to the meter or something. The only part of the bike that feels cheap.

makes things a little harder for us to help you no?? LOL

if the vib's bother you enough, you can just get some clear silicone and seal it up to stop the chatter!

Sounds like you're missing some of the support bits in the pod.

The cover should be able to move around the meter, but there are dampeners in the housing that should keep the vibration down.

The pod innards changed from 05-06 and the 07-up. What year do you have?

Should be a metal frame for the meter. Look at the schematic and see if you can figure out where your meter plastics are NOT attached.

Thanks, it looks just like the schematic with the heavy wire meter stay. The 07 bike has a bracket that holds the meter.

My meter is rock solid, the lower (black) cover is good, the top red cover seems loose when assembled

There are 3 flanges on the meter that look like they should have some rubber posts to push up on the cover against the clips and the one screw that hold it on.

The schematic of the meter shows the 3 extra flanges I'm talking about but doesn't show anything in there

only thing I know of on cushions ?, is just on the headlight. the plastics don't have any. i'll take a look at the meter, see if it has any ?.

nope, the meter does not show anything. my top headlight vibrates too, but I don't worry about it. now..if ya want to ease it some ?, go to lowes, homedepot, buy some door gasket stuff, or some made for windows, the kind ya peel off the backing tape ?, it comes in different sizes and widths, get some of that, cut to fit, peel, stick, done !.

The top part clips onto the front of the bottom part, and then has that one screw that holds it in place. The rubber vent line also helps keep it from vibrating simply by being there.

The rubber plug that, if missing, will cause vibration that I was thinking about was on the newer style. # 26 in this schematic.

I may just do that, thanks. I don't mind that it moves, but between idle and rolling with my itp589 tires it gets a vibration, then a rattle.
