450 foreman A-arms

Ok so the dust seals on the front drive shafts are cracked and probly need to be replaced on my 04 450 foreman. The tool to remove the balljoints is 180.00 bucks. Is there any small automotive tools that will work. I did the ones on my rancher back in 05 but the pickle fork tore the boots. Can I unbolt the A-arms and pull the axle shafts that way? Thanks in advance

You should just be able to knock the bottom balljoint loose and pull the axle out of the knuckle. Just remove the cotter pin from the nut and remove the nut. Now, hit the a-arm sharply with a hammer. Don't be afraid to hit it and it will pop off. It takes a quick, sharp blow with the hammer. The arrow, in the picture below, points to the spot where you need to hit the a-arm.

BTW, you can remove the a-arms and pull the axle that way if you prefer.
