Here we go for those of you that saw my fair race video you know my crank finally let loose. Shes knocking pretty hard now and the oil is well filled with metal shimmer and even a few small chunks. So the build begins. Got it all washed up today and ready to start the heart removal. Here is a teaser picture of the stuff i have ready to go.
Custom CP stroker piston. 87mm 12:1
Hotrods +4 mil stroker crank
New crank bearings
New full seal kit
Cometic topend kit
Vertex bottom end gasket kit
Tusk crank puller/installer tool
Few more things happening on this build but not done yet.
New oil pump
Sending out rear shock to jetsuspension
Sending crank out to be balanaced(struggling to find a place to do it).
If budget holds up hinson clutch+basket?
As you can guess this build will probably be into winter more than likely. Which means no more atv riding for me for the season. But a shotgun seat in my brother rzr is reserved for me lol

Good news! I was pulling the quad apart and found a loose cam gear bolt. Explains my metal in the oil and the knocking i was hearing. Shes not dead yet! Gotta love that honda reliability. Gunna strain the metal out of the oil and put a new filter in it and run it somemore. Fingers crossed this thread dosnt get updated till winter!!!

It stock from 05. And i put it off the rev limiter alot. Granted i change the oil often. The oil pumps also get old and weak and start to starve it after a while. My oil pump is also original. The brass/gold color in my oil is the dead give away the crank bearing is failing. Also the knock when hitting the limiter and for a few seconds after. The 400ex engine is no doubt bullet proof. But i have shot my fair share of armor piercing rounds at it lol.
