personally ?, it's a bit of over kill for that size of atv. 2500lbs is plenty winch for the trx420 :).

I agree with shadetree ^^^^

The battery in the bike is way too small to power a 3500 lb winch to its rated capacity. Get a 2k or 2.5k and save yourself a bunch of money.
agreed ^^^^^^^ !!!. retro says it very plain and simple !. a 2500lb winch is a great winch for that model. if he wanted to up the pulling power ?, a simple snatch block will double the pulling power for a 2500lb winch.

I have a Swisher heavy plow and bucket. I blew up my 2500 warn twiceZ getting tired of tearing it apart and replacing the sun gear. Yes I undersrand the ATV is not built for heavy use but I do not own a tractor (yet) and need to use what I have. What is a snap block?

Yes, synthetic is fine as long as it is the proper weight and is JASO MA (wet clutch) rated. I use Rotella T6 in most of my bikes. Blue jug. 5W40.

Snatch block is just a pulley that doubles your pulling power, but it also halves your line speed.

a heavier sized winch will help you IMO< but your electrical system might not be up to the task!'
maybe try using a very large marine grade deep cell battery to run the winch , over using ATv's battery/power system
and then hook battery up to tender after every use!

as you already know them buckets are killing your atv! its just not made for it
you's be WAY better off selling your ATV and buying a older used tractor, odds are if you shop right, you can get one with ZERO out of pocket money needed!
and will out work your atv several times over with a lot less wear and tear on it as well!

Need ideas for after market heavier shocks for ATV front and back. Mine is used mostly as a tool instead of a toy. ie- plow and drags and bucket. I do not care that the ride would be stiff. Yes I understand the rancher is not meant to be a tractor but that’s what I have. When it fails I will just buy another. Or better yet the tractor I really need. Thanks for the help.
