My 07 Rancher may be the best ATV I have ever owend, and I have owned quite a few.
Recently however, a problem has come up that has me "scratching my head".
On flat, or moderate hills the machine runs perfect. If I am at high altitude or going up a steep hill the motor starts sputering and loosing power. It is the same sensation as running out of gas. Once it starts, it will not quit even on flat ground. If you let it set for a while it runs fine until you start up another steep grade.
ANY IDEAS on what the problem is will be greatly appericatied.

Welcome to the forum. It almost sounds like a plugged fuel filter. How does it act with full throttle on flat ground?
I agree, and I had a car that had a rusted gas tank. It would start and run fine, but when you drove it would start losing power and sputtering and it got worse and worse, but it would idle OK. Once you stopped and let it sit, it was fine until you started to drive again.
