my 07 400ex just spanked a 03 z400 with a fresh rebuild took him by a good 3 bike lenths. only thing I have over him was a stage 2 rev box. but he had full exhaust I only have a slip on. I thought the z400 was faster?

Z400's are fast, but they're not that very fast. They won't go over 70 stock. Which is about the same as a 400ex. A fresh rebuid just means its going to run like it did when it was newer. My Z has a tendency to spin off the line more than my one buddies EX does, dunno if its the same with other peoples. I dragged my uncle on my Z agains my Rincon with me riding. Starting in 4 wheel drive my Rincon got him off the line and stayed in front for about 250 feet.

KFX/Z should be faster stock for stock but yes, rider makes all the difference.

My cousin has a KFX and his quad is just quicker. We raced on a MX track and his quad is quicker with either me or him on it.

thats a good possibility he just traded his kx 125 for it. he has like no ride time under his belt. I've been riding for 33years. atleast oncea week maybe more. and my tires are shot haha. his bike has brand new tires.

The EX has more low end grunt and can lug down much better, but the Z has better top end. So on let's say a 300ft drag. It will be pretty close because the Z won't have time to use the entire gear ratio.

not even just balls, skill comes into play too ive beat guys with better bikes on a blaster, ive beat dirt bikes on my 400 sooo rider is a big part of it
