Hey, decided to start this cause these forums helped me along the way on my rebuild.
I just rebuilt the top end on my 400ex and it runs a ton better now, only problem is that it’s smoking from the exhaust port on the new head I replaced. I’m thinking it’s because of the old crushed exhaust rings I reinstalled (had to take it apart again cause original head and valve cover were screwed) but it’s a white smoke and I’m curious if anyone’s experienced this after their rebuilds. I also didn’t replace the rings (though I should’ve) but a cheap budget is what it is, especially with how long shipping is now a days. I don’t think it’s oil since it’s all white and it doesn’t smell like it but I’m looking for advice to see if I’m gonna need to tear everything down again and replace all the gaskets or if I can send it?
