Welcome!

It can be worn rocker arms, worn timing chain guides, stretched cam chain, tensioner, or the valves are just adjusted wrong.

I'd start with checking the came chain/tensioner, and then the valve adjustment if it's still ticking.

100% timing chain slap. Heard it a million times. Put an aftermarket timing chain tensioner on and it will go away. But the reality is the timing chain is stretched. Welcome to the forums!

Did you get an oem chain? Cuz i would suggest the crf450 chain. It requires zero modification and its 2 full plates thicker then stock. As far as the broken bolt on the tensioner that one can be a real pain to get out. You can try welding a nut to it if there is anything sticking out. If not drill and tap which also sucks. Keeping the metal shavings out of the engine is the hardest part.

Cant remember what year range works. Mine is a 2010 crf 450 chain i do know that. I would suggest oem. Not aftermarket replacement.

No problem! Dont go crazy trying to make a honda motor completely silent. They tick and there is nothing you can do about it. The way i always judge mine is if i can hear it with my helmet on or it gets loader at high rpm you need to adjust valves. Also if you have the stock cam you have an auto decompression mech that can be noisy also. On a side note you need to adjust the valves every single time you remove the valve cover. It will be different one time to the next because the way the cover seats. My .02

One last thing. Sometimes the header gaskets can leak and cause a tick. If they werent changed and the header was removed you likely need to put new ones in. Also the first time you ride it after the new crush gaskets are in you will need to re-tighten the flange bolts. They will be loose.
