sometimes my 400ex runs really hot to the point where if i dont have jeans on (iknow ur supposed to) but if i dont have jeans on and i have my feet as far apart on the pegs as possible my leg will turn red? any good suggestions to bring the temp down ALOT? ....im heading to my grandmas now and when i get there im changing the oil and oil filter? will that help ..its bone stock exept for itp's (FTW!!)

Yep, if they're running lean, they will get a lot hotter.

idk what running lean means but its usaualy pipe and head

Running lean means you are getting more air than fuel into your motor, the lack of fluid causes it to run real hot. Your carb may need to be cleaned out.

do you know if there is a carb air/fuel screw?

There should be but that will really only adjust the level at idle. Is the quad spitting or sputtering? Does it have any bog/flat spots when you hit the gas?

Your quad has so many issues, that is a whole different thread. LOL

i rode all day today after clean oil and its perfectly fine i guess dirty oil makes u run hot?

Mine is changed about every 2 weeks I wouldn't know
