i have a 02 sportrax 400ex and the other day me another were riding on it. after about 10 or 15 minutes i started hearing a knocking noise from the rear when i turned. im pretty sure the chain got a little too tight. has anybody had or heard of this problem? or the fix?

sounds like the carrier bearings going bad or the carrier is loose in the swingarm and need tighting.

I agree^^^^ or the chain is too slack and it's smacking the skid plate

Welcome to the forums. I agree with 69 and Moose, it's probably one of the two things mentioned.

a very over tightened chain will cause the noise you described but its gotta be pretty dang tight,,start with the chain first since thats the easiest and work your way into the carrier

Re adjust the chain make sure to have proper tension.
