It's almost time for my 400ex to have its first maintenance thing.
Its going to be about 125$ for the honda service to do it.
Can I do all this stuff myself or do I have to take it in?
Like if I dont take it in will that void my warranty?
My family is pretty mechanical with 4-wheelers, boats, diesels.
I called and they said that I probly need to at least take it in to check the valves which is 60$. How hard is that?

I would seriously let the dealer do the break-in check-up bro spend the 125 bucks that way if they find any issues they can repair them under warranty. what they are doing in the first service isn't just the engine they go from front to back checking everything retorquing all the necessary bolts it's not just limited to the engine.

I did mine my self with the help of a honda mechanic. We checked everything fom bolts to valves and changed fluids. I would take it to the shop. Unless you have the same luxury I have a good friend that works at Honda.

Better to have it serviced by the dealer coz you might accidentally void its warranty.
