I recently put on a Curtis Sparks Shorty full system and also had a Dyno jet kit installed also on my 2001 400ex.

My question is I noticed some oil or oil like substance coming out the exhaust, is that normal or something I should be concerned of?

If it's coming out or the rear of the exhaust you may have a bad exhaust valve seal

Is it smoking and what color?If it's white it's just extra fuel.If it's blue then it's burning oil.

I checked the oil and noticed it was down(recently did an oil change) So I believe u are correct in ur assumption.

My next question is how hard of a fix is it and what specific parts(i.e. links) would I need?

Most of the time when you replace the valve seals, you don't need to replace the valves themselves, unless the valve stems would be worn, but it's not likely.

Actually all you need is the valve seals you can do this without removing the head it's a bit tricky but it can be done, I used to do it on cars. you have to maintain air pressure via compressor inthe cylinder to hold the valves up or you can put the piston at TDC and get an extremely long rope like lawnmower rope and stuff it in the cylinder leaving a tail to remove it. Done that too. It keeps the valve from dropping out when you remove the springs, If you do it that way or anyway make sure you put the tightly wound coils toward the head.

I believe you have a worn out valve seal have i change soon to avoid further damage.
