I'll clean the air filter and go from there. Are there any good write ups on how to clean a carb? I understand the theory...but am more familiar with automotive carbs.
excellent. I'll just use my best judgement while cleaning it.welcome to the forums, first..purchase a can of gum out carb spray cleaner...remove your carb off the bike..remove the o-ring from the carb to intake , ( the carb cleaner will dissolve this o-ring ! )..take the carb apart..remove all the jets ( brass looking )..with one wire from a wire brush ( nothing bigger !! )..poke it through the high and low jets..blow some comressed air through them..set them aside..spray the rest of the carb down real good with the cleaner..blow the carb out in every hole..nook..cranny..assemble the carb ..install..fire it up..see how it does. p.s. you can also purchase a carb rebuild kit .I'll clean the air filter and go from there.
