Hey guys. I’ve found very little on changing these bushings.... a few people have talked about burning them out and cutting a slit in them to get them out, but HOLY COW!!! I can’t get them out.

I’ve burned a lot of the rubber so it’s pretty crumbly but still sticking to the outside... AND i’ve Cut a couple slits in the metal outer sleeve and that does not free them up.

Am I missing something?

You'll have to cut all of the way through the outer steel ring of the bushing, then collapse it a bit and drive it out. A Hacksaw blade in your (gloved) hand might work to cut that ring.

Ya that’s exactly what I did... in 3 places!!! It’s like the sleeve is fused completely to the arm.... I’m totally wrecking the arm with the hacksaw and punches...

AND I was working on it in the vice and slightly squashed the other bushing hole!!!!

Unreal

I am a little late to this thread ?, but how I do it, is heat the end up smoking hot, go in from one end of the a-arm, and drive the bushings out, never had a problem yet ?!. and never had to cut up any part of the a-arm to do this !.
