First I'd like to say hi as I'm new to this site...but now down to the nitty gritty...I recently got an 07 400ex all stock and just bought a stage 2 hotcam and a keihin flatslide carb...I don't know what year 450r it came off but I had a few questions. I know I'll have to modify the air boot and slide my air box up some but can I use my stock ex throttle cable...and if not will someone tell me why...I haven't even pulled my carb off to look yet...and also will I need to jet it differently or will the stock...assuming they are stock jets...work with my 400ex...after I put the stage 2 hot cam in with it...also will the stage 2 hotcam make it alot harder to start since it does away with the compression release...thank you to any and all who respond

Send a private message to trx2five0. He will know the answer to your fcr question. That is one of very few mods i have never done. If i remember right though the throttle cable has to be a fcr one. I think the ends are way different. Welcome to the forums!

One other thing. The cam and fcr alone wont make a huge difference. You will need a full pipe and open airbox lid to make anything of those mods. Your engine can flow internally all the air it wants but if it cant get that much air and get rid of that much air your going no where performance wise. My .02

An fcr and cam for $60? Yeah i dont blame you one bit there. Fcr carbs sell for around $300.00 everywhere else.

That's a steal on an FCR. I had an extra one that came with my DRZ400 I used to have and sold it for $120

Ok so I put the cam in and can tell a lil mid range power not much but I tried putting my carb on and it was gonna rub my tank...is that normal

Is this carb off a Honda 450r or a dirt bike it looks tall 2 me...

Nope that is a normal size for an fcr. I would bet its off a yfz450r. But there is a known fitment issue clearing the gas tank. And there is an adapter needed to make it fit. Trx2five0 should know all that info. He has an fcr on his "moose rocket". I havent been able to chase the moths out of my wallet and afford almost 300.00 for an fcr or i would have one also. If you cant ever get that one dialed i will pay you double what you paid for it lol.
