Hi All,

I posted a thread a week or two ago about my rear brakes making a loud squeaking noise when I go to stop. It does it whenever my brakes are completely pressed and wheels lock up. I bled my brakes, added brake fluid dot 4 recommended, cleaned with brakecleen, and I still have the noise. Can anyone suggest what I should try next? I'm almost ready to take it to the dealer and have them look at it. But I want to do all the maintenance to my bike. Please help.

Is it ONLY when you actually use the brake? Or does it sometimes happen when you are just riding in general

Maybe the brake pads got glazed. I would take them off and rough them up a little with some sandpaper. Don't take any material off, just rough them up a little. Also, go around the rotor with the sandpaper or emery cloth in a circular motion and scuff it up on both sides, so the pads can grip better.

A smaller front sprocket would probably be the most noticeable, but it would cut down on your top speed.

As helmut has stated, you would lose top end speed if you were to do it that way. Its a personal preference thing I guess, but I really dont see why you need more low-end speed for a 400. My 400 is stock (for now) and I can easily wheelie it off a dead stop. Any more power and I would end up flipping over backwards lol

what kind of horsepower increase can get with all those upgrades?
I am not sure on a horse power rating/ Depends on the exhaust you purchase.
YOu will definetly notice the increase. I have a Curtis Sparks full exhaust, K&N air filter and I rejetted mine. It is definetly better. SOunds GREAT too!
I also kept my airbox lid on.
