400 ex carb leak

My overflow tube at bottom of carb was leaking even when it was running. So I cleaned and put new carb kit in with new float valve.
It doesn't leak while running but leaks half as much when not running than it did the first time. Could something else beside float valve be causing it to leak?
Any suggestions, bad float, etc. It runs fine during idle and revving.
