ok i know this may sound stupid but i did the timing chain replacement and adjusted the valves on my 2003 honda 400ex and its runs great for the short time i have run it but heres my question. on top of the motor in between the valve covers theres a breather port where does this go , is it just a breather with a tube or does it plug off to something , second on the oil sump resivor there is also a breather where does this go any help would be great thanks

Welcome to the forums. That port on the valve cover is supposed to have a hose that runs to the top of the oil tank (oil reservoir).

well i could but the hose is off its just a plain hose almost looks like fuel line but its off the bike , it was just sitting in the neck of the bike and i think it might be a drain for the plastic plate that sits under the gas tank not sure

o well maybe it was someone else doing before i had the bike , again thanks for the info and diagram
That's about what I was thinking, but I didn't know if you bought it new or not.
