I can't speak for the guy who did it but I assume that you would want to stop because set up as he did isn't not using the VSS to make sure the speed is within 6mph or so like the stock machines do. I would say under most conditions you could get away with it but the risk is there.

Makes sense. Heck I can put a 400AT front diff in this 350 rancher and along with the 420 disc brakes it would be updated to ALMOST 420ish except for the EFI.

Wait wait wait... wait. So what you're telling me is I can take the front brakes off a 420 and they'll bolt up to my bike??
I think you need knuckles and all but yes. Jeep has done it so I'll let him tell you if it's 100% bolt on or not, but as far as I know it is.

Well, technically I'm in the process of doing it. The 420 calipers are kinda funky. If you try putting new brake pads on they won't clear the rotor, but it appears as if there is adjustment there that moves the plate where one attaches the caliper to the knuckle.

Anyhow, back on subject, I've put some 420 disc brakes on a 300. You need the 420 knuckles, calipers. The 300, 350, and 420 all use the same bottom ball joint, so 420 knuckle bottom ball joints slide right in the hole in the lower A arm.

The top ball joints on 420's and 350's is the same, so should be a bolt on deal. The 300 uses a smaller ball joint up top, so I ground out the hole in the 300 upper a arms to take a 420 upper ball joint, so then the top of the knuckle would attach to the upper a arm.

The rest is just hooking up the brake lines and bleeding them.

I've got a 350 I'm finishing up, but haven't done much with it lately. I have 420 brakes to put on it, but they needed new bearings, ball joints, and brake pads, and I set them aside waiting on all the crap. Have all of it installed on the knuckles now but haven't installed them yet.

Alright well me know buddy because I already plan on doing the AT differential swap in the future and if you get it all successfully attached, I will most likely do that because I hate drum brakes.

I'm in central Mississippi. About an hour from Jackson. I usually go to Hot Springs 5-6 times a year, and we pass through Helena (or nearby) going there I believe

So another interesting question. Does anyone know if the top end off any of Hondas bigger bikes will be a direct bolt on to the 350 bottom end?

Don't think there's any bolt on OEM top end from another Honda machine that will fit a 350.

There's a new ATV park here in Helena. Horses and Harley's ATV park. I haven't been yet, but looks like a decent place to ride. Going to try it in the spring. They have a FB page.

Have the 'Warn' mechanical kickout on my '99 450S Foreman .... works good, although it's seldom used. Like the way a full time system works best.
I had a 424 for my 300 but never put it on. I was using the bike for work and other people were driving it more than I was. Figured it would be easier for me to give them less choices, so I sold it and stuck with the full time 4x4 lol

I know this has nothing to do with the selectable 4x4, but I didn't feel like making a new thread for this. Do you guys think a bumper off of an 05 foreman will fit? I've closet examined the two bumpers and they look similar enough that they would interchange. Plus the bumpers off Newer foremans and ranchers interchange (so that means there's a chance Honda made it possible for the older ones?)
Reason I'm asking is because the foreman bumper is thicker (and better looking) and I tend to hit shit. A. lot. I've literally broken 4 rancher bumpers beyond repair and I already need another (or to fix my ***** brakes lol??) but the foreman bumper I found one brand new for only 20$ more than a brand new rancher bumper.

No idea, but I doubt it will be bolt on.

Take some measurements, and if you try it, let us know how it works.

It could be made to fit with some fab work, but if you're gonna do fab work you might as well build a custom front bumper. The tubing on ALL the Honda factory bumpers is pretty thin, but I think that's as much for a "Crumple" effect as anything. You can put a stout from bumper on there, and then you bend the frame instead of the bumper.

weather here is 75 degrees and above during the day so I've been getting things done. I blew out my spark arrestor, fixed brakes, and aligned front wheels (and ordered some parts haha)

what is safety ?? Run it till ya kill it or it kills you lol

But on a serious note I don't keep breaking them because they're flimsy, I keep breaking them because I always buy rusty used ones! (except for the one time I actually hit a railroad tie fence post going 35)
They're actually pretty tough when they're not rusted thru, I've seen a '16 rancher hit a tree going 15 or so and it only left a qtr sized dent in the bumper

420 brakes in place. Easy peasy. Only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the brake line routing. The 350 A Arms put the line in front instead of down the back of the arm like the 420's.

Still though, very easy swap. Pop top and bottom ball joints, and the 420 knuckles and breaks attach at the ball joints.

I did have to "customize" aka cut up with an angle grinder the factory 350 a arm guards. The disc brakes hit the guard with it in place, and when I cut off enough to clear, the outer boot was really exposed, so I cut off some more of the 350 lower guard so I could clear/use the 420 boot guards, which attach to the 420 knuckle.

It will stop now, so no more drum brakes to mess with!

The owner of this one rolled my Foreman over TWICE the last time we had a ride. I don't care what he does with this one as long as he's not wrecking mine anymore.
lol, guess I won't be selling him this '86 trx350 then !..lmaooo.
