i have a 2001 rancher 350 2x4,,,my question is ,,does the dash pod have to be on the bike for it to fire,, the pod is busted no readouts at all, no nuetral light or reverse light is working either,, it shifts fine and goes into gear,,and when it is in gear it will not turn over till you shift it back to nuetral,, so i think the nuetral switch is fine,,, does the pod have to working for the bike to fire,,,,

Shouldn't have anything to do with it but you need a schematic to be sure.

Agreed^^^^ get a schematic but Im going to say Yes because like a bulb completes a circuit that pod completes a circuit also.

the coil was bad ,, it will crank without the dash pod being hooked up
