2004-2006 Ranchers are almost identical.

Use the service manual to perform all the routine maintenance—you will get to know your machine better this way. refer carefully to the oil specification (don’t use regular motor oil) and be sure to install the one-way oil filter properly. buy your parts at a local Honda shop and try breaking the ice—get to know the parts and service managers.

Start off by using some Seafoam fuel treatment and ride it for 15-20 minutes. If it’s not running well then you’ll need to rebuild the carb.

If you don’t want to set the valves or rebuild the carb, maybe your new friends at the local shop will do it for you. Labor can be $125 an hour, so a carb rebuild might cost you $275. Full service about $400. Don’t let that scare you off—somethings better off left to the trained technician.

So buying a new carburetor would be better and cheaper?? Where is the best place to buy online?
No, that’s not what I meant

If you pay the Honda techs to completely rebuild your carb, expect to pay $275 parts and labor.

If you rebuild it yourself, you will have to buy the parts: a rebuild kit ($25), a primers pump ($30), a starter valve ($40).

You can still buy new OEM carbs for your quad—about $175. never, ever, ever, ever, EVER, buy an aftermarket carb or parts.
