re: picture

Hey thanks in advance for helping. I cant get a picture up cause Ive no cable here for my camera but i could be a bit more discriptive.
On both front wheels the brake fluid pipe enters the drum but also on both wheels there is a much lighter plastic pipe which enters both drums in two places on each wheel.
the reason i ask is because one of the little pipes is broken and it does not leak any substance, i wonder if its something to do with air to the drum???
Thanks again.

It's probably the vent lines, they have vent lines coming off the back of the brake backing plate.

The Fourtrax 350 is the same as the Rancher 350. For some reason, the Canadian models are called Fourtrax and the US models are called Rancher, but they're the same thing. Anyway, here is a link to a repair manual for a 2000-2003 Rancher 350.

Thanks for the diagrams i have found the part thats broken but im still at a loss as to what it does and if i really need to replace it I've got a pic of where its broken and higlighted it in red, the pipe is sheared so if theres no pressure on it can i just rejoint it somehow?

Sorry pic was to big but your right in what you said. I'm guessing its not vital to repair unless it gets bolcked again i'm guessing but i think it lets the hot air build up away when braking. if it were to block i wonder whats the worst that could happen?

I don't know what happens if the vents get blocked.
