Hey i just picked up a 98 honda 300 fourtrax 4x4. I cleaned the carb, ran new fuel lines, and cleaned the air box and added a new air filter. I also have it sitting on 27’s and i just snorkled it. It runs great and rev’s up just fine when i’m just riding around but as soon as i go into a mud hole it losses power and it feels like i’m in 2nd or 3rd with it pinned in first. I have no idea what could be causing this and really need some help. Also it does the same thing in water too but i know its not getting water in the carb because it does it before any of my lines or the box even goes under. Also the other day i was testing the snorkle and it died on me twice in the water. But it was weird because like i said it had no power and i was barely movin foward and all the sudden it got a lot of power and then just died. It did that same thing twice. No water in the carb and air box completely dry. Please help cause its basically undriveable the way it runs now.

What about the vent tube on the left side the carb , is it hooked up and is the end of it above the water line ? If it is sucking water thru the vent hole , it will do just what you are describing ------

Take your spark plug out, take a photo and post the the photo on here, sounds like you got a fuel/air issue to me.
