Snorkeling my 300fw and trying to minimize the amount of tubes that snorke up. first question!? is it ok if I tee the front and rear diff vent tubes into one tube of the same size? Or would I need to tee them in to one tube of a bigger size. Second question!? What about the carb over flow!? I don’t want to just pug it cap it off. Not sure if it’s wise to tee the over flow and carb vent tube together.

seems a bad idea to me to tee vent hoses , but you do ride with a different piper, if any one of the vented housings where to get contaminated with water , then it could travel to the other , like especially the rear brake drum vent which is a cinch to get water in it ----- on the crankcase vent , I have not done it yet , but see a lot of people take that hose and made a double circle loop under the frame so the water can't travel around the loop ----
the overflow tube needs to hang down or it won't work and it can allow fuel to go into the cylinder if it is clogged or going up , there is a check valve on that hose that only lets gas out and water can't go back up into the bowl

I will be doing a disc brake conversion so I’m not worried about the brake tubes. But I wasn’t Sure on the over flow. I really wanted to tee only the front and rear diff to one. I only wanted the one for carb vents, one for diff vents and the one for the transfer case vent. Total of three

I got disc conversion in the front , so that's two less , so 1) the rear diff , 2) the front diff , 3) transfer case , 4) carb , 5) rear brake drum , 6) crankcase breather ( some route this into the air box , I run it with the rest ofthe vents , if the air box floods , it is a straight shot into the crankcase , I have flooded the air box and never got water in the oil , if your engine needs a ring job , you might get a few drips on your face LOL ---but I bet you will fix it quit )

my carb has two vent tubes,I teed the two carb to one and did about a 6” loop to loop with the one. I teed the front and rear diff to one and did about a 6” loop to loop with that one. Did a 6” loop to loop on the trans case one. And the 6” loop to loop on the crankcase one. So I’m down to 4. And I made a bracket that bolts onto the tab on the steering stem right under the handle bars. On the bottom side of my bracket the flexible tubs plug to and on the top side of the bracket the tubs convert to hard tubs and stick up out of the slot the cables and lines come up through. I’m also going to see if it is possible to fab 400ex rear disc brake assembly and what to would take on that conversion mod. If there’s no way possible my J&M guy told me of a rear disc conversion I could buy. I’m going disc front and back. I’ll get some pics to post of the full snorkel set up tomorrow if I have time to finish up on it. Got to paint my bracket and put it back on and plug my tubes back up. And if the 400ex rear disc conversion is possible that’s my next project. I’ll probably stop there till after Christmas due to the fact I will be presenting to my kids for Christmas

Carl Quote " my carb has two vent tubes " Quote Carl

I wonder if you have the right carb on that engine , all the 300's I have or had only had one vent , the 350 carbs had two vent tubes tee'd together , , a 300 has a thing on the side that looks like a vent port , but it is not drilled thru , did you put a hose on that maybe

there is no " store bought " disc conversion kit available for the rear of a 300 or the 250/350 rear ends that everyone uses in the 300 , I have seen people do it with custom work , I am trying it out right now

I run crankcase vent up to handlebars then back into the airbox.

Run 2 of the OEM check valves on the carb drain.

Stock carb has only one vent on the left side so if yours has 2 it must be a China carb? I haven’t had much luck teeing them together on other machines it would never run right but I don’t know about how it would run in this application.

I don’t usually run the vents for the drum brakes they leak like a screen door on a submarine anyway.
One for each diff, one for t case, one for carb total of 4.

Also, I mod the gas cap as well for a standard vent and you can run that vent to the top of the snorkel.

Mac , the tank cap vent , did you remove the on/off knob and put a barb thru the middle of the cap ? My 450's have the tank vent , the 300's don't

Carl , it sounds like you have the wrong the carb on it -- does your carb have a valve on it where that second vent line goes to , hows about a pic of that carb

on the 6 - 300's I have that little hose barb thing on the right side the carb is there , but there is no hole in it , you could stick a hose over it , but it wouldn't do anything as there is no port in it ----that carb you got looks brand new and kind of after market to me , so maybe that barb looking thing is ported on yours , but it is not on a OEM Honda 300 carb

thanks. I got a hose on it already. If in needs it?! It on there. I’m not gonna pull it off to check!? Lol. If I ever have to I’ll check it then

Got the trans case, front and rear diff, and carb snorked. I found a water inlet tube in the dorman help line that fit my hard tube and hoses perfect so I scraped my bracket idea. All I had to do is cut the water inlet tube and bend the tab around. What I like most about the water inlet tube is the end is grooved for a o-ring. So I can actually remove the hard tube from the water inlet tube and just turn the hoses back down in the slot and ride without the snorkel tubes. So now both vent tube snorkel and air filter snorkel are removable! Gonna tap the crankcase vent hose in to the air filter snorkel. Gonna tee the gas tank vent hose in with the carb vent hose I’m probably gonna swap the black vent hoses to clear so I can see when and if moisture/water gets in the lines.

Yep, just JB weld a barb into it.
