supertrapp 4" RACING SERIES SYSTEM is what i ran when i raced my 300ex. it was the best one that i found. i know it performed better than my fmf and sounded better than a hmf. unless u like that insanely loud, cant hear any thing but the hmf pipe.

i put a hmf on a 400ex i used to have and the only thing it did for me is give me a head ache. honestly didnt notice much performance gains after i put it on. after it rattled itself apart i put a fmf pipe on it and never looked back. this is just one mans opinion so please dont be sending me hate mail lol

i work in the parts department at a ktm/suzuki dealership in the last 4 years i have had proby 6-8 hmf customers have had the same problem as i did with it falling apart.

i didt take it as u didnt belive me, not at all. every one has an opinion and different experiences. no big deal. like my raptor 660 for example. most people will say they are a POS but i have owned it since it was new and never had a problem at all.

Im not trying to burst your bubble here but at the end of the day its only a 300ex and your not gunna get a very deep sound with a crackle. About the only way to make a 300ex what they call a thumper really is to cam it and stroke it and bore it and basically just rebuild the motor. Mines got a cam and a full white brothers head pipe and hmf slip on. It sounds ok but not really anything that impressive. Sorry once again im not trying to make you lose hope but yeah. :icon_ nono2:

Supertrapp makes a pipe that you can adjust the sound level. The new HMF pipe actually comes with an insert to keep sound levels around the same as stock.

I like to keep mine as quite as possible. It's just easier to ride in a lot more places without annoying other people.
