my 300ex engine is pretty much wore out.. needs piston and rings.. timing chain, guides and other things.... i wanting more power and dont hav the money to buy a whole nw atv.. so would like to put another motor in it.. was thinking of 400ex or 450r engine.. is this a good idea or not?? and suggestions?? advice needed

It can be done but will take a good amount of work, and will still cost ya a good amount, not as much as an entirely new ATV but I mean, you ARE buying the engine, which is one of the most expensive parts. You will need a new mount for sure, and a whole list of other things, but I would say if you really want a bigger engine, then go for it, much better than spending 7 grand for a new one

FInd a 350X and do that swap. that would probably be a cheaper route than a 400EX or 450R. you can buy the wiseco piston kits and it comes with the topend gasket set pretty reasonable. You can also buy the 330 kit with the gaskets for under 300 bucks and that comes with a new cylinder. the chain and guides aren't that expensive either. I'd say for under 500 bucks you could have a great running engine. a good running 400EX engine will top a grand.

thanks for the im put guys... i was thinking of putting a 350c engine in it also... i got to thinking that i might as well buy a new 450r and hav to complete atvs... so im goin to start saving :)
