Looking to upgrade my cdi was wondering about good brands pretty cheap. And does a stock 400ex cdi fit on a 300ex and would that upgrade anything?
Thanks!

I don't know about the 400EX CDI i doubt it will work but any good named aftermarket CDI will be an improvement to the rev. limiter and timing curves.

They have somme pretty nice wheel spacers too! the conversion kit is 100.00 but to use 400 or 450r shocks you will need the widening and conversion combo.

back to the CDI question. almost all brands of CDI boxes are made by the same company. Dynatek makes almost all of the ones that are on the market. Big Gun Rev Box is made by Dynatek.

That should narrow your choices down and make it easier to pick one.

yeah I would say so. My quad has an Answer Roost Boost on it.

through your rpm range as you get past your mid range and move onto your high range rpm your horse power and torque doesnt increase much.i think the roost boost either gives you a hotter spark or it raises your rev limiter or both so that as you get past your mid range your horse power and torque increase at a stronger rate. like if you see a dyno sheet for a car or something. low to mid range your hp and torque lines go up very steep, but when you get past mid range they kinda trail off and go more horizontal than vertical. well the roost boost keeps those lines going steep. I know that is what it does but im not sure if it works by raising your limiter or the heat of the spark or raising the length of the spark.

Billy it was on it when I got it, I haven't found my limit on rpm yet kinda scared too actually but I know it will turn up pretty good. and you are right red from what I've read about it. the Roost Boost is basically a capacitor that does increase spark to burn fuel better and cleaner and I believe it does increse the rev limit some too.
