Welcome to the forums. I think they are different The 4x2 is up and down and the 4x4 is cross ways the way the pads run.
Really? I've got an old 94 in the shed and they look the same but i have never tore into it either. So thats good to know. sorry for the wrong info. that I gave.

The 4X4 has 2 wheel cylinders with the adjustments were the 4x2 has one wheel cylinder and one adjustment.
Mud is correct. The 4X4 has two wheel cylinders on each side.
