300 ex seat help.

Are all the 300ex seats the same? I bought one online that the guy said fit the 250ex and the 300ex. It does not fit my 98 . The seat release lever is on the side and to far forward and the pins that guide in the back are smaller a farther apart. I hate getting jacked around but, even worse if I am wrong.

I should have checked with you guys first. I read in the description it fit both and I was reading 250ex and thinking 250x. Funny thing is this guy said it fit a 300 he bought. Thanks for ebay/paypal protection.
