my 250x is a '87 model. it currently has the stock suspension front and back. i have been looking on ebay and all of the 300ex, 400ex, and 450r a-arms seem to cost about the same. which ones would be the best to go with? and what all do i need to complete the change? i trail ride and really dont do any jumping. i just want something that will handle and ride really well. the ole back can't handle it like it use to. any thought much appreciated.

Anything larger than a 300EX you will need a shock conversion Kit for the front. Click here this company will have the shock kit for about 100.00 bucks, then you can mount 400EX or 450R shock on the front, the rear is a different story neither of them will work since they have a different mounting system than the 250 or 300. FYI the 300EX is the exact same quad what ever you buy for a 250 will fit a 300 or vise versa. I would look for a good aftermarket rear shock like Works they are relativley inexpensive in comparison to ELKA, FOX ECT.

I told you before bud.A raptor 660 rear shock will bolt in or you could use the 350x swingarm. The 300ex,250x,and 350x axles are the same. You'll just need some bushings for the top of the 350x shock the bolts larger in the 350x frame. And as for the front.I'd buy the 450r a-arms and 450r shocks and do a conversion kit.

ok, i'm looking into 450r a-arms too.. can i use my stock spindles? or do i have to upgrade to 450r's as well? Also will the 450r brake lines work with the 250x disks? lots of questions... thanks for your patience.

Your spindles should be fine.I'm not sure about the brake lines.

From what I know it's about 1.5 to 2 inches wider. Not possitive though.
