Hey, I have an 87 250x Fourtrax. The bolt pattern on the front is 4/110 and all the other quads (300ex,250ex,450r, etc.) have 4/144 bolt patterns. I need a new front rim and its hard to find one. Can I just buy 300ex hubs and put on mine, since they are basically the same? Its alot easier finding rims for that pattern. Thanks, new to this forum.

I have a set of 300ex or 400ex hubs off of a late 80s early 90s (I think). If you can measure the bearing size and whatnot, I'll do the same. If they are the same, I'll send ya what I have (you just have to pay shipping from 03103). I have the spindles and control arms too w/rotors, they are all together.

My rear wheels came off of a 06 400 ex so the hubs must be the same. I think the guy who owned the quad before me switched them out.

I'm about 90% sure that they will fit. The 300ex/250x are basically the same quads.

I know this is years later, but for who it may help. I am just getting around to my first 1987 trx250x overhaul and im doing the 400ex front end. I had my old 1987 spindles bolted in and in place everything lined up perfect...But when you go to put on the 300ex or 400ex hubs they do not slide all the way onto the spindles...Why? Because for some reason the 1987 trx250x spindles are not tapered like the newer 300ex and 400ex hubs are. Therefore I was forced to rip off a set of newer 300ex spindles that I had on a rusty front end around the parts bin and you could noticeably tell that they are tapered from the larger diameter to the smaller on the spindles. Most people on the forums here say they swap right in place, they must have changed the spindle taper when they went from 4/110 to 4/144.
