I have an 01’ 250ex and towards the end of our first ride of the season it started to sputter after I hit little jumps and whoops. Not every time but it happened about 3 or 4 times.

Last year I was having this problem even after cleaning the carb (new carb). It got to a point where I could only ride it for a couple minutes before stalling completely. Then would have to wait five min or so then it would start again and stall again. I ended up replacing the gas tank and fuel line and the stalling and sputtering completely stopped. I rode my quad probably 6 or 7 times until the trails closed for the winter. Now it seems to be happening again.

Should I dump some carb cleaner/ sea foam in the gas tank and see if that helps before taking the carb apart?
Also sorry for the wicked long post. I’m very new here! Thank you!

Is the new carb an OEM replacement or an unknown/unnamed brand?

So you believe it’s a fuel related issue? It’s not a bad coil or connection cutting the spark?
Do you run an in-line fuel filter? Usual suggestions are to rebuild the carb if your certain it’s a fuel issue, rebuild on a sheet of white paper or plastic, it’s a lot easier to spot small dirt particles etc. If you decide to clean your carb again, clean it like you’d expect a surgeons tools to be.
