I have a 2003 250EX, cant tell 100%, but when the bike is cold (first 5 minutes of riding) with full throttle in 5th gear at lower speed, the engine rpms will build, but the bike does not move much faster.

Seems like the centrifigal clutch is slipping or not locking up.

When the quad is warm, opperating temp, no problem all day long on a 5hr ride!

Is this not opposite of what happens when a clutch slips?

I'm not going to fix anything because everything still seems to be fine when its warm, just worries me that something is going to go wrong because it does it when its cold.

I agree with your thought of not trying to fix it. Just let it warm up fully, Hondas do not run well when they are cold...

Are you using the right kind of oil? The wrong oil can make the clutch slip.

I was thinking that, but wouldn't it do it all the time? Does that quad have a wet or dry clutch?

It seems like it would do it all the time, but with ATVs, I see weird things happen all the time. It has a wet clutch.

i would first let it warm up, you shouldn't be in 5th gear when shes cold, and make sure you got the oil made for wet clutches.
