Like I said, 2017 Rubicon with about 400km's. It ticks slightly when I first fire it up. After a couple mins the ticking is gone.

Do the valves need adjusting or is this OK

I'd adjust the valves to spec and see what ya get. If its still under warranty let the shop do it though.

Would adjusting the timing be covered under warranty do you know? If not, I'd rather do it myself.

Ignition timing? There is no adjustment for ignition timing, its handled by the ECU. I'd call the dealer and ask about getting the ticking noise you are hearing fixed. It probably just needs a valve adjustment but if you open the motor up and perform that yourself, the warranty will become void. With 400Km on it, its past due for service in my opinion. Have fun!
