On my 2015 Foreman with electric shift, it's 3.1 quarts without changing oil filter, 3.2 quarts if you change the oil filter. Honda oil filter part number is 15412-HM5-A10. The oil filter needs to be installed with the rubber seal facing out. This is very important. Look at the existing filter as you pull it out, and you will see that it was installed that way.

I agree with ktriebol and second, make sure the oil filter is installed correctly. Also, those three 8 or 10 mm bolts holding the oil filter cover on doesn't require much tightening and suggest strongly looking up the torque specs. because I have seen folks snap them....

Thanks you for your help guys.Any idea if this kit will work?I know I’ll need to buy 1 more quart of oil.The picture looks like the same oil filter,I’m guessing Honda uses it on multiple machines.

And no worries,I’ll probably be changing it for him.Ill scan the web for the filter cover torque specs.

Yes Honda uses the same filter in dozens of models. You've been given accurate info above, dump, change filter, fill, and put some miles on your buddy's new ride!

You may not need this, but a nice quick clip regarding the oil/filter change,
