Hey all,
Been a busy winter with work. I saw a cartoon the other day where a group of guys were questioning a guy on the other side of the table. They asked "How long did you work during your last Job?" He answered "30 years!"
They asked "What's your age?" He answered "20 Years old" They asked "You are 20, and you have 30 years experience? How is that possible?" He answered "Overtime!"
That sure is the way I've felt over the winter, been doing the finish trim in several houses over the winter and it has been a nightmare. Everything seems to fall on the trim guy. When everyone else puts the job behind it's the trim guy that has to make up for the time and on top of it make it look great. I have been working from 6:00am until 8:00 - 10:00pm 6 days a week for the last 3 1/2 months. Waaaaay too old for this crap. Finally finished up and onto another project, unfortunately outside and, late winter early spring in Montana does not make for the most favorable working conditions. All of that to catch up a bit.
I am looking at a used 2016 Honda Rubicon. Anyone have any experience or thoughts about it? After these last 3 years of trail riding my wife and I have decided that we need to get something with power steering and independent suspension. Our trails are great but the Ranchers just aren't made for trail riding, it is just too hard on the passenger when riding double, and to hard for my wife when she rides by herself to shift smoothly and to fight the ruts and hairpin turns of the trails without the power steering. The only thing that concerns me about this machine is the ES and DCT, I guess I shouldn't say "only thing" those are pretty major concerns. It is in pretty decent shape and only has 2200 miles on it. Like the first Rancher we bought, it has been used on a Potato farm since new for the last couple of years, does not appear to be beat up at all, and they trade in or sell their machines every two years. They keep five machines on the farm at all times, All Honda's, and service them regularly at the dealership with Honda oils and differential lubes. I asked if they have had any issues with the ES or transmissions at all and he told me they never have. In wanting a machine with power steering and independent suspension I really want to stick with a Honda but this seems to be the only thing out there close to what we want and that would be easiest for my wife to operate other than going to a Yamaha Grizzly or Can Am with full automatic snowmobile like throttle. And with the type of riding we do with a lot of slow riding and climbing, the Can Am's have a terrible heat(from exhaust) issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated, Thanks FF.
