When I drain engine oil on my 2015 Foreman, all goes well until towards the end of the drain. Once the stream of oil slows down, it no longer goes cleanly through the hole in the skid plate. The result being that quite a bit of oil is deposited on the top of the skid plate. After the oil change is done, oil drips off the skid plate onto the floor for the next couple of days. I would like to avoid this and have one idea, but am open to others.

My thought was to make a short length of pipe that is threaded at one end with the same threads as the oil drain hole. I could screw it in the drain hole once the oil stream starts to be reduced. I might give this a try. Does anyone know what the thread size is in the drain hole? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

if it were me ?, I would look for some kinda large rubber open doughnut thick enough to place between the skid plate and drain plug, this way no oil will drip on the skid plate.

I used to use brake cleaner on my /16 Rubi & let it drain in the oil pan with the oil. For the amount of bother, thats the easiest solution IMO.
I guess you mean to use a spray can of brake cleaner and try to spray some of it on the top of the skid plate, allowing the mix of oil and brake cleaner to drip down into the oil pan. If you meant something different, please let me know.

I just took the extra time to carefully ring the top of the skid plate in a circle around the drain hole with rag material. The material soaked up and stopped the oil from spreading and pooling up there. Then I just pulled the soaked rag down and chucked it in the trash. Worked for me.

Exactly what I was going to recommend trying. Best solutions are the simplest.

Have you thought about removing the skid plate and drilling or cutting a hole larger? Say twice the size it is now, and likely allow the messy drips to be not be caught by the skid plate...bit more work but hopefully a one time deal to prevent future headaches.

I thought about it, but the hole in the skid plate is flanged for strength, and I don't want to lose that.
