I'm needing some guidance; I have a 2015 Foreman that I purchased pre-owned from a local dealership about 2.5 years ago; when I purchased it, there were about 995 miles on the odo, it has about 1100 miles on it now. About a year ago, the check engine light was flashing (also I think 5x), I took it into the dealership, they replaced the O2 sensor; everything has been fine since, until today- when I cranked it and noticed the check engine light flashing yet again, 5x (two long, 3 short). Is this the code for an O2 sensor and if so, that's twice in less than two years- and this bike is essentially only used 2x a year for hunting. It's garage kept and babied. No mods to the bike, and no other problems exist. Bike has been properly maintained, etc. Interested to hear some opinions please, thanks in advance.

You don't use the ATV often enough for the O2 sensor to remain clean. You are probably running on old fuel (gas older than 30 days begins to rot) when you do use the bike, which coats the O2 sensor with yellow goo. You'll probably need to clean the sensor or replace it. And you'll need to remove all of the fuel from the bike (run it dry) before storing it to prevent it from happening again. When you do use the bike, make sure that you run it long enough that the motor gets fully up to operating temperature then run it some more. Clean fuel, high heat and frequent use are what keeps the O2 sensor clean.

Clearing codes can usually be done two ways. With a tool or a jumper. Its explained in the manual... the methods are too long for me to type up here tonight. One method is risky, so I don't usually share that one in public. Sorry 'bout that. :-(

I drained the old gas and ran it until all the old fuel cleared. I removed the O2 sensor and cleaned it (wiped and brushed it off) and reinstalled. Put some quality gas in it and ran it this weekend. The DTC is still blinking. It doesn’t seem to affect how the bike runs, it’s just frustrating to see the DTC flashing; I also purchased the tool (070PZ-ZY30100 SCS SRVCE CONNECT0R) and followed the instructions to clear/reset the code and I cannot get it to reset. Any other suggestions? Is there a video anywhere which demonstrates how to use the srvce connector tool?

Did you follow through with the O2 sensor tests (posted above) before attempting to clear the code? What was the resistance and voltage measured? The way it works is, the fault has to be fixed or the code comes back immediately... in other words you can't clear it if there is something wrong in the circuit.
