Just acquired a TRX420FA1 for FREE! Sort of free anyway...

It cost me one week of my retirement to help my sister-in-law pack up and move from Florida to Pittsburgh, PA. You should have seen the 26' Uhaul truck with two Ranchers, a Rincon, and a JD zero-turn mower trailered behind.

I live in rural SW Virginia, Craig County does not have a single traffic light and most of the roads are loose gravel and follow creek beds. Perfect for my latest addition to the stable!

Need a name for the new ride. I've got a Notre Dame theme going. Any ideas? I was thinking Hugo or maybe Victor.

Ireland... I've been there on vacation. Lovely place. My family immigrated to the US from Ireland in the early 1800's.

Today was maintenance day! New to Honda but have done maintenance on a variety of vehicles in the past.

This bike has 1000 miles but I don't think any maintenance has been done. The maintenance reminder 1 was showing when I took delivery.

Changed the engine oil and filter with Honda parts. It shifts much better now. The crankcase was full and the oil didn't look contaminated.

Changed both differential oils. I used the Honda drive shaft oil. The oil from the front looked very clean. However the rear was low and very black. The rear fill plug was less than hand tight and had a trail of oil running down the side of the case. Hopefully it hasn't been that way for long.

Cleaned the air filter.

Cleaned the spark arrestor.

Changed the coolant with Honda HP coolant.

Have I missed anything?

You cleaned the air filter, but did you also re-oil it with a good foam air filter oil? A foam air filter is almost useless against fine dust until you use a oil designed for it.

I used the GN4 left over from the engine oil change. Not good enough? What do you recommend?

I certainly was willing to help her for free. She insisted and I couldn't refuse. Didn't want to start a family argument, I've had enough of those.

Regular motor oil, especially multi-viscosity, is far too thin and not tacky enough for a foam air filter. It will eventually run to the bottom, leaving most of the filter uncoated. Any of the following are one of just many meant for foam air filters. You have liquid in bottle, spray application, biodegradable, etc as your options.

wheelsquad- Thanks for the heads up. I've ordered the UNI clean and oil kit and will correct the situation ASAP. I've only dealt with foam filters on lawn equipment. I've only bought one lawn mower in 40 years. Find one on the curb, clean it up, keep on cutting. I must be doing something right.
