My rancher won't fire. When I turn the key on I can hear the pump prime and it will attempt to turn over but will never fire. I pulled the plug and put a little gas in the plug hole and replaced the plug again and it would fire. So, my assumption is that the gas is not flowing all the way. Not sure how to troubleshoot from there. What could it be and what steps do you think I can take to determine issue. Not mechanical at all but trying to not have to take somewhere that charges a fortune. Thanks for any help.

Do you not ride very much—this is the most common problem

You need a service manual
I have service manual and parts links in my signature block below i hope you can find one there. Or on fleabay. You want Genuine Honda not Clymer or Haynes.
Most likely your fuel pump is clogged; you can use the parts links to view illustrated parts breakdowns of your system.
Shop Labor rates can be $150 an hour plus parts. Wouldn’t surprise me if this was a $300 job.

Take the pump out of the tank, the filter is a little mesh type bag that attaches to the lower right side of the pump. It should be visible if it is blocked.
For fault diagnosis purposes you could remove it completely (temporarily of course) and see how that goes.

First thing I would look into though is the timing. I chased a similar issue several months back in the same year/model ATV and it turned out to be a sheered Woodruff key on the crank which caused the flywheel/stator to slip on the shaft.
