I have a 2014 rancher 420 es, just tore the engine down yesterday and put timing chain, clutches, piston, valves, jug and shifter motor gears on it.it runs great but when it’s in neutral it shows 1st gear, when I try to shift it goes blank and won’t start anymore,I can manually shift it to neutral (shows first) and if I hold the brake it will start but it’s in limp mode or something if I hit the gas it rev limits at low rpm and dies (didn’t split the case) is there any certain way I need to line up the gears for the shifter motor or something to get everything timed right ? Even If I manually shift it into first it just shows a — blinking

Hello, I’m having a very similar problem....mine is a 2015 Honda rancher DCT. Shows second gear while on “N”. Sometimes it shows a solid “-“. How. Did you fix yours?
