are you sure your carbs float bowl is filling up with fuel ?. as in, float needle sticking closed ?. what about your gas cap, have ya tried running it with the gas cap off ?, if the cap won't vent ?, it wont let fuel fill the carb :).

I had 2 of these machines, sold one of them, one started running very poorly. Exactly like it was running out of fuel, ordered a fuel pump for it and replaced it. There is one little problematic clip in the pump removal procedure, it is on the fuel line. A little green clip that is a bit of a bear to get to release, but once that is released, it literally took me 10 minutes to install the new pump. It fired right up after the replacement and hasn't been a problem since. Whether it was the built in filter or the pump itself i dont know but it was worth the money to just replace the pump and have it take care of the issue.

Hey guys, put a new fuel pump on the rancher yesterday, took it for a 10 mile ride this morning. The quad did not miss a beat.It is running great, thanks for all the info.It now has over a 100 miles on it! Lol.Not bad for a 2013.For now on it’s non ethanol gas and either sea foam or Berryman fuel treatment.I will take it out next weekend for a ride when I get back from Tennessee.Let you know how it does.

Thanks for following up! The 420s have weak fuel pumps, so take good care of it by keeping fresh non-ethanol fuel in it. If its going to be parked for more than 30 days, empty the fuel out completely before storage.

No, gas will not going bad that fast. Hell, i have E10 gas that has sat for months and it ran just fine in my 12yr old carbed mower. In a FI motor i think it would be even less prone to issues.

I was going to ask if there was any chance you ran the tank low or out of fuel a bunch because starving the fuel with fuel will heat it up and will cause it to burn up but since you only put 8 miles on it in the last couple months thats not the case. Are you sure your fuel valve is turned to ON and not OFF or RESERVE?

If you turn the key to ON do you hear the fuel pump hum?

Can you remove the injector and put a rag under the fuel rail to see if your getting fuel to the injector when you turn the switch on? If so, can you connect the injector without popping it into the motor to see if its squirting?

Do you have gas line antifreeze in the fuel? Common issue up here in the winter.
