2013 rancher code 41 and no start

So my dad was riding his 2013 rancher 420 ES model the other day. Shifted from 3rd to 2nd and the shift indicator went blank. I guess it went into a limp home mode or something because it was stuck in some gear. Not for sure which. He got it home. I came over to look at it. I took the manual shifter under the seat out and shifted the ATV to neutral. The light comes on. Hit the starter button and it cranks over fast but wont start.
Also watching the check engine light it gives 4 long and 1 short. So code 41.

I have a manual for it. Been reading up. Just wanted to see if any of you guys had run into this before and could offer some insite before I get started.
