I had run my atv for about 30 minutes brought it home and parked it. The next time I went out to ride it, it will not start. It is fuel injected. I have checked the fuses, kill switch is off, Can hear the fuel pump when I cut the switch on. The battery is strong, had it on maintenance charge and it shows 100%. It does not have but about 70 miles on it. Spark plug is also good. It turns over just will not start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep Today (Saturday) just put a brand new NGK plug in it. Also has about a tank of non ethanol fuel in it. Non ethanol is all I have ever used in it.
Still doing the same thing. Motor is turning over just will not start.
Thanks,
Roy

When I cut the switch on I an hear the fuel pump cut on. When I put the new plug intoday I did not check for a spark since it was a brand new plug. I can say though that the old plug did not have a spark. The ATV only has 76 miles on it though.
Thanks

The kill switch is in the run position, Took the spark plug out and held against the frame and I do have a spark. I checked all the fuses and they are all good. When I turn the ignition switch to on I hear a clicking noise for a couple of seconds. I thought they may be the fuel pump but not sure. When I looked in there , there is a vertical type cyclinder with the top portion being black. We listened but the click is not from there . The click seems to be coming from some where under the seat. Still cranking but not starting. I really appreciate all you guys help.
Thanks

The clicking is the fuel pump relay. Unplug the connector and plug it back in in case its getting a bad connection. Then bypass the relay to start the fuel pump. It shows how to do that in the service manual. If the pump still don't start up by jumpering the relay it probably needs replaced.

Thanks Retro. I cannot find my manual but have looked for it. I downloaded a manual for the TRX420FE from the internet but it says nothing about the fuel relay. Can you tell me where it is and how to bypass it. I really appreciate you and this forum.

Thanks Retro. I cannot find my owners manual so I have downloaded one from the internet for my TRX420FE. I looked and searched through it and cannot find anything about the fuel pump relay. Can you tell me where it is and how to bypass it. I really appreciate it.

This image was taken from the 2014 service manual but your 2013 fuel system should be the same.

You can do the relay test using a multimeter as explained. Then jump battery voltage to the brown and green wires in the harness plug to bypass that relay and directly test the fuel pump. Positive battery lead goes to brown, negative battery lead goes to green. You may have to find some wire to use for jumpers.

If the fuel pump runs while jumpered the relay is probably bad. If the pump does not run at all then the pump is probably bad.

You can verify a bad pump (before spending money) by unplugging the two-wire connector at the pump and directly jumping battery voltage there. If the pump then runs there is a wiring harness issue between the fuel pump relay and the pump. If the pump still does not run then you'll need to buy a new OEM Honda fuel pump kit, which should include a new fuel filter.

Let us know what you learn if you can.

Hi Guys, don't think I have forgotten you all. We are going through a heat wave hear in Georgia and it is hot outside. As soon as it cools a bit I will go outside and check out your suggestions. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks for all your help and patience.
