hi, my father-in-law drove his atv over the other day and it won't start back up. The solenoid would just make the click noise. The battery was the original when he bought new in 2012. I took it to a battery shop and they load tested it and said it was bad. I bought a new one and installed but still just the click. I did charge the battery and still no luck. Power was getting to the starter so I thought maybe it was bad. I pulled the starter and put 12 volts to it and nothing. Bought a new starter and it spins when you hit it with 12 volts. So I installed that and nothing but the clicking still. I know starter is in working order and getting power. It's almost like the engine is locked up. There is no pull start. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the service manual to see if there’s a way you can rotate the engine with a wrench. Prolly have to pull the spark plug to make it easier.

Thanks for the manual. The engine did turn over real easy with flywheel bolt. The starter works when I pull it out and hook the cables up. Reinstall it and hook the same cables back up and it won't spin. Voltage drops and starter will get warm but nothing happens. I'm baffled.

Sounds like not getting enough amps. So maybe dirty/bad ground, connectionns on solenoid, bad solenoid.

Battery, solenoid, and starter are new. I cleaned up all connections. Thought possibly new battery could be bad and I tried to jump it with no luck
