Noticed oil leaking, and saw I have broken threads on my oil drain plug hole, see pictures. I've searched the forums and seen everything from replacing the case to welding another threaded hole over the existing as fixes. Anyone have success with the welded solution? It seems to be the easiest and least expensive repair.

That does sound easy to fix doesn't it... but ya gotta remove the busted off piece of aluminum from inside the crankcase, so ya may as well replace the broken case while you have it split open.
